The invention relates to a method for imaging brain tissue via magnetoencephalography (250) assisted by diffusion MRI (210). The method consists in modeling the development of the electrical currents in each voxel using a state model in which the transition matrix (A∏) is obtained (235) from dMRI diffusion parameters which are modified by electrical parameters forming a particle (∏). The observation matrix is moreover obtained (275) from an anatomical MRI (270). A plurality of particles is generated (230), and a state vector is estimated via Kalman filtering (251) for each of said particles. The weights of the different particles are then updated (255) from the respective covariance matrices (I) of the errors (253) retrospectively. The particle parameters that correspond to the lowest covariance are then represented, singly or combined, in the form of an image (290). The resulting image can be used for diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic purposes and for tracking the development of the condition of a patient.
