PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of easily and accurately capturing a scout image. A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a display control unit, a specific unit, a position adjustment unit, and an imaging control unit. The display control unit displays the camera image of the subject obtained by imaging the subject placed on the top plate with the camera on the display. The specific unit identifies the position of interest 71 of the subject based on the user's instruction for the camera image. The position adjusting unit moves the position of the subject of interest in the body axis direction to the magnetic field center position. The image pickup control unit captures a scout image of the subject.
