PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus that can implement high-speed imaging by effectively acquiring signals with a quality of acquired images maintained while images for confirming a region under dominance of a specific blood vessel are being captured by applying RF pulses as prepulses to suppress signals from the specific region.SOLUTION: A prepulse combined image 505 with RF pulses set as prepulses to suppress signals from a specific region and a normal image 502 are used to generate a mask image 507 for masking on the normal image 502, so that the blood vessel (blood flow) 506 to be suppressed is visualized clearly. At this time, during prepulse combined imaging 504, data is extracted only from space frequency bands 503 contributing to the blood vessel to be suppressed in a k-space, and the remaining bands are complemented by normal imaging 501. In addition, the mask image 507 is binarized by predetermined thresholds to determine the blood vessel 506 to be suppressed. When signals are acquired as 3D data, space encode in a projection direction is cut during prepulse combined imaging.
