Method and device for the insemination with mycelium of compost packages for the cultivation of mushrooms and compost package inseminated with mycelium in accordance with said method.
In order to inseminate with mycelium compost packages for the cultivation of mushrooms, the compost (1) is enclosed in bags (102) of transparent plastics material, provided with filtering means (5, 6) for air exchange between the interior of the bag (102) and the outer ambient. The bags (102) containing the compost (1) are then sterilized by suitable heat treatment; and into in each bag there is driven a ponted container (10) containing mycelium developped on seeds and comprising side openings all located completely within the bag (102) and penetrating at least partly in the compost (1). The container (10) is left in its position driven in the bag (102) to keep the penetration hole closed.
