SOLUTION: In a medical image system and the image server uses a DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) image d2 selected in an image reading terminal as a key image from DICOM images stored in a storage part. The image server generates a general-purpose image corresponding to the key image with high image quality, generates general-purpose images corresponding to the DICOM images other than the key image with low image quality and stores them in the storage part. The image server provides the generated general-purpose image according to an image acquisition request from an electronic medical chart terminal.
