PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work support technique which is easily introduced to a work site and reduces the burden to a worker due to the occurrence of a new job or the like. SOLUTION: A work support system includes: an image string generation unit which generates, from a work procedure manual, a work image string including work images in the order of works executed by worker; an output unit which displays a work image extracted from the work image string, on an output device; a gazed image extraction unit which extracts a gazed image including an image of a specific object being gazed by the worker, from a plurality of visual field images including acquired images being in worker's viewing direction; a similarity calculation unit which calculates similarity between the extracted gazed image and the work image which has been displayed by the output unit when the extracted gazed image has been acquired as a visual field image; and a work state determination unit which determines whether the worker is appropriately executing the work or not using the elapsed time after the display time of the work image, the extracted gazed image, or the calculated similarity.
