PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire capable of being easier to pass through a blood vessel lesion part.SOLUTION: A coil includes a first coil 13 on the back end side and a second coil 14 on the tip side. A first coil 13 has an outer diameter ratio increasing structure including a large diameter part having an outer diameter D1 on the back end side and a small diameter part having an outer diameter D2 on the tip side. A tip of the small diameter part, a tip of a core wire 11, and a tip of the second coil 14 are joined to form a tip joint part 15A. A back end of the large diameter part is joined to the core wire 11 to form a back end joint part 15B. At least the large diameter part includes a first densely wound part.
