PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing a plant-derived natural compound which is used for preventing or treating angiogenesis-related diseases for suppressing angiogenesis is provided to suppress VEGF-induced angiogenesis without cytotoxicity, and to improve drug safety. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing angiogenesis contains a compound of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The compound suppresses HUVEC(Human Umbilical Vascular Endothelial Cell) proliferation through inhibition of HIF-1alpha(hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha) expression. A method for suppressing angiogenesis comprises a step of administering a subject with the composition.본 발명은 혈관신생-관련 질병 또는 질환의 예방 또는 치료에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있는 식물-유래된 천연화합물을 포함하는 혈관신생 억제용 약제학적 조성물을 제공한다. 본 발명의 약제학적 조성물에서 유효성분으로 이용되는 화합물은 혈관신생 억제인자(예컨대, VEGF)의 발현 억제를 통해 낮은 농도에서 세포독성 없이 VEGF-유도된 혈관신생 반응(angiogenic responses)을 억제하므로, 약물의 안전성을 크게 개선한다.
