PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bismuth oxychloride brilliant pigment that has excellent light stability and can maintain photoluminescence glossiness of a peculiar opal color, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The coating of the thickness of 1-100 nm composed by a metal oxide and/or a metal hydroxide of titanium oxide, silicon oxide or the like is formed on the particulate surface of bismuth oxychloride. It is desirable that the particle diameter of the metal oxide and/or the metal hydroxide is 0.5-50 nm. A metal compound of a titanium compound, silicon compound or the like is added to the suspension of bismuth oxychloride, and a metal oxide and/or a metal hydroxide is deposited to form the coating, and is optionally calcined at about 300-700°C.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】優れた光安定性を有し、しかも独特なオパール色の光輝性光沢を維持できるオキシ塩化ビスマス光輝性顔料及びその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】オキシ塩化ビスマスの粒子表面に、酸化チタン、酸化ケイ素などの金属酸化物及び/又は金属水酸化物で構成された厚み1~100nmの被覆を形成する。前記の金属酸化物及び/又は金属水酸化物の粒子径は0.5~50nmであるのが好ましい。オキシ塩化ビスマスの懸濁液に、チタン化合物、珪素化合物などの金属化合物を添加して、金属酸化物及び/又は金属水酸化物を析出して被覆を形成させ、必要に応じて300~700℃程度で焼成する。【選択図】図1
