PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material capable of expressing excellent effects such as antifouling, antifungal, antibacterial and deodorizing properties, weatherability, glossiness and the like for a long time by coating the coating material (the same) on the surface layers of automobile bodies and the like.SOLUTION: This coating material contains 100-10,000 wt.ppm colloidal solution of an antibacterial inorganic oxide in which fine particles consisting of an antibacterial metal component and the inorganic oxide except the antibacterial metal component are dispersed as based on the fine particles and 0.1-10 wt.% surfactant such as a nonionic surfactant or the like. The fine particles have &ge；1.50 refractive index and 3-500 nm average particle size. The weight ratio (the surfactant/the particles) of the surfactant to the fine particles in the colloidal solution is in the range of 0.5-50.COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO【課題】 自動車車体の表層等に塗布して、防汚性、防黴性、抗菌性、消臭性、耐候性および光沢性などの優れた効果を長期間にわたって発揮する。【解決手段】 抗菌性金属成分と抗菌性金属成分以外の無機酸化物とから構成された微粒子が分散した抗菌性無機酸化物コロイド溶液を微粒子として100~10000重量ppmと、非イオン性界面活性剤などの界面活性剤を0.1~10重量%含有するコーティング剤であって、前記微粒子の屈折率が1.50以上で、且つ、平均粒子径が3~500nmの範囲にある。コロイド溶液中の微粒子重量に対する前記界面活性剤の重量の割合(界面活性剤/微粒子)は、0.5~50の範囲にある。
