Disclosed is a water-absorbable sheet structure in which a water-absorbing layer comprising a water-absorbable resin and an adhesive agent is sandwiched between non-woven fabrics from the top surface side and the lower surface side of the water-absorbing layer, wherein the content of the water-absorbable resin is not less than 10 g/m and less than 100 g/m, the water-absorbable resin has a physiological saline retention of 35 to 80 g/g, and the water-absorbable sheet structure has peel strength of 0.05 to 3.0 N/7 cm. The water-absorbable sheet structure can have good shape retention properties even when the water-absorbable sheet structure is thin, and therefore has such excellent effects that the water-absorbable sheet structure can keep the shape thereof well before and after the absorption of a liquid and can exhibit satisfactory absorption performance on liquids having low viscosities such as urine as well as liquids having high viscosities such as menstrual blood.
