The present invention relates to a metal alloy comprising at least a first main component Zn, which constitutes a minimum of 80% of said metal alloy, and a second component Al, which constitutes a maximum of 10% of said metal alloy, wherein said metal alloy has a corrosion rate of a maximum of 0.02 millimeter pr. year, preferable a maximum of 0.01 millimeter pr. year. The present invention furthermore relates to the use of the metal alloy as a weight for maritime equipment an to a sink line and a dragnet line using such weights.
