PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stress response measuring method and its device for a plant allowing efficient and simple irradiation of a microwave on a plant sample without being bound to a plant sample inserting space and simple and quick ESR measurement of various stress responses of the plant sample under a physiological condition. SOLUTION: This device is provided with magnetic field generator 2, 3, and 4, a surface coil type resonator 1 irradiating the microwave and measuring at the same time, a space part for positioning the living plant sample in correspondence to the magnetic field generators 2, 3, and 4 and the surface coil type resonator 1, and a water feeding part 7 to the living plant sample. Stress is applied to the living plant sample, and free radical and active oxygen produced as a result of a stress response are nondestructively observed on a real time basis.
