PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for cement and cement which harden without accompanying a pH change at the time of hardening, and have good biocompatibility and compression strength more than 14 MPa which can be applied to a section receiving a high load (pressure bone fracture of a vertebra or the like).
SOLUTION: The material for cement contains a calcium salt powder which keeps an inositol phosphate and/or its salt adsorbed by the surface. The particle size distribution of the powder has maximum values at a particle diameter P
1 and a particle diameter P2 , respectively. The difference between the particle diameter P1 and the particle diameter P2 is 10-50 &mum, and the median diameter of the powder is 5-15 &mum. The method for manufacturing the material for cement comprises a process of dry grinding the calcium salt powder and a process of macerating the dry ground calcium salt powder in a solution of the inositol phosphate and/or its salt and adsorbing the inositol phosphate and/or its salt on the surface of the calcium salt powder.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
