PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a more appropriate phase contrast image by reducing the eclipse of radiation incident to grids in first and second grids, and detecting the radiation transmitted through the first and second grids by a radiation image detector without a loss in a radiation image capturing apparatus including the first and second grids and the radiation image detector.SOLUTION: The radiation image capturing apparatus includes: the first grid for forming a first periodic pattern image by allowing radiation emitted from a radiation source to pass through the second grid for forming a second periodic pattern image by the incidence of the first periodic pattern image and the radiation image detector for detecting the second periodic pattern image formed by the second grid.
