PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiographic imaging apparatus and a method for detecting a defective image wherein a flat panel type radiation detector (FPD) usable continuously is prevented from being repaired or replaced unnecessarily and the FPD is replaced or repaired at need.SOLUTION: Whenever a radiation image of a subject is captured using the radiation detector, a radiation irradiation history is recorded for each pixel of the captured radiation image, to generate radiation irradiation history data. Using the radiation irradiation history data, after the radiation detector is irradiated with radiation while the subject is absent or without irradiation, a non-imaged area where the subject is not imaged any time is detected from image data for detecting the defective image generated using the image data read from the radiation detector, and the defective image is detected from image data of an area obtained by removing the non-imaging area from the image for detecting the defective image.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】継続して使用できるフラットパネル型の放射線検出器(FPD)を不必要に修理または交換することを防ぎ、必要な時に、FPDの交換や修理が行われる放射線画像撮影装置または画像欠陥検出方法を提供することにある。【解決手段】放射線検出器を用いて被写体の放射線画像が撮影される毎に、前記撮影された放射線画像の画素毎に、放射線の被照射履歴を記録して放射線被照射履歴データを生成し、前記放射線照射履歴データを用いて、前記被写体がない状態で放射線を前記放射線検出器に照射した後、または照射しないで、この放射線検出器から読み出された画像データを用いて生成した画像欠陥検出用画像データから、前記被写体が常に撮影されない非撮影領域を検出し、前記画像欠陥検出用画像から前記非撮影領域を除いた領域の画像データから、画像欠陥を検出することにより、前記課題を解決する。【選択図】図2
