PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe biocompatible material, easily absorbed by living bodies and inexpensively produced, and a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION: The biocompatible material is a composite comprising hydroxyapatite derived from fish scales and collagen similarly derived from fish scales as main ingredients. The method for producing the same is incorporated in a production process of hydroxyapatite derived from fish scales or a production process of collagen derived from fish scales, and comprises mixing an extract solution of hydroxyapatite with an extract solution of collagen in a ratio of about 8:2 in a solid base and agitating, subsequently drying the mixture with hot air to be the composite.
