A method and apparatus for picking items from a stack of items stored in one of a number of bins in a kiosk dispensary. Each bin has a bin identifier identifying its position in the rack and each bin accommodates one or more items with multiple items in a bin arranged in a stack. Each item in the stack has an order identifier corresponding to its position in the stack. An item to be picked is identified by its bin identifier and order identifier. Items between the item to be picked and an access position of the stack are removed from the stack and parked until the item to be picked is in the access position whereupon it is removed from the bin and an index of order identifiers and bin identifiers is updated to match the repositioning of the items.La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil permettant de prendre des articles dune pile darticles stockés dans un casier parmi un certain nombre de casiers dans un distributeur de kiosque. Chaque casier comprend un identifiant de casier qui identifie sa position sur le présentoir et chaque casier reçoit un ou plusieurs éléments, de multiples articles dans un casier étant disposés en pile. Chaque article de la pile possède un identifiant dordre correspondant à sa position dans la pile. Un article qui doit être enlevé, est identifié par son identifiant de caser et son identifiant dordre. Les articles positionnés entre larticle qui doit être enlevé et une position daccès sont retirés de la pile et rangés jusquà ce que larticle qui doit être enlevé, soit en position daccès après quoi, il est retiré du casier et la liste des identifiants dordre et des identifiants de casier est mise à jour pour correspondre au repositionnement des articles.
