The present invention relates to a method for feeding poultry, with specific type of feed and to a specific composition for animal feed. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an animal feed comprising the composition of the present invention, use of the animal feed of the present invention for feeding poultry and poultry meat obtainable from poultry, which has been fed by the feeding method of the present invention.The composition comprises sources of vegetable protein, preferably selected from the combination of wheat, Pisum sativum (pea), oat and vicia faba (bean) or from the combination of wheat, Pisum sativum (pea), oat and zea mays (corn, mais).
