PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor braking mechanism of a spinning reel, capable of generating the impact sound easily, caused by a contact of a lever member with the rotor or the reel body, when a bail arm is made to have a line- releasing posture. SOLUTION: This rotor braking mechanism for braking the rotation of the rotor 3 of a spinning reel, has a first lever member 50, a braking member 55 to be made contact with the tip part 50c of the first lever member 50 and an interlocking mechanism 27 used in combination with a bail-reversing mechanism. When the first and a second lever members 50, 54 are at a breakaway position (a position designated by a two-dotted chain line), a gap is formed between a protruded part 54c of the second lever member 54 and the inner wall of a first rotor arm 21. There, by swinging the first and second lever members 50, 54 toward their contacting position (a position designated by a solid line), the protruded part 54c of the lever member 54 makes a contact with the inner wall of the first rotor arm 21 to generate an impact sound.
