The continuous freezing apparatus 1 for foods freezes foods F as articles to be frozen that are fed continuously from the feed portion 2a while conveying them toward the discharge portion 2b, and includes a mesh-like first conveyor 4 having one end thereof located on the feed portion 2a and conveying the foods F in a first direction from the one end to the other end, a second conveyor 5 extending directly beneath the first conveyor 4 along thereof and conveying the foods fallen from the other end of the first conveyor 4 in a second direction opposite to the first direction, a coolant tank 8 disposed directly beneath the second conveyor 5 and storing coolant S that freezes the foods F fallen from the second conveyor 5, a third conveyor 6 having at least one portion thereof submerged in the coolant S in the coolant tank 8 and conveying the foods F fallen from the second conveyor 5 while immersing them in the coolant S in the coolant tank 8, and a coolant spraying means 9 disposed directly above the first conveyor 4 and spraying the coolant toward the first conveyor 4.
