A linear array sensor and a method for forming the same are provided. The linear array sensor includes: an insulating substrate; a plurality of bottom electrodes disposed on the insulating substrate, wherein the plurality of bottom electrodes are arranged in one line or more than one lines; a plurality of photodiodes disposed on the plurality of bottom electrodes, respectively; and a plurality of top electrodes disposed on the plurality of photodiodes, respectively. The linear array detector includes: the above linear array sensor; an X-ray sensitive scintillant layer adhered to the linear array sensor; an IC chip connected with the linear array sensor; and a mechanical structure adapted for supporting the linear array sensor and the IC chip. Manufacturing cost and crosstalk currents of the linear array sensor and the linear array detector are reduced.
