The plate is at least 2 mm thick, has a density greater than 1 and is made from a compact polyurethane elastomer which has an angular resistance to tearing of greater than 30 kg/cm. The elastomer material from which the plate is made may have a density of pref. 1-1.35, an abrasion resistance of less than 120 mm3, and a hardness of pref. 65 Shore A - 65 Shore D. Pref. edge(s) of the plate has a series of holes for fixing it to the net, and may have a thicker edge along one end than the other. ADVANTAGE - Increased plate strength is obtd. and is more convenient to make and fit.
