Disclosed is a human monoclonal antibody as defined in the complete specification. The disclosed antibody is characterised in that it has opsonic phagocytic killing activity against at least one strain of each of at least two different Enterococcus species and against at least one strain of Staphylococcus aureus. Also disclosed is the use of said antibody in the manufacture of a medicament for the diagnosis, prophylaxis, treatment, or combination thereof, of an enterococcal infection and/or a staphylococcal infection.
