PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article comprising a side seal part achieving both seal strength capable of standing the use as a side part and seal strength allowing relatively easy breaking, for improving ease of use of the side seal part.SOLUTION: An underpants type absorbent article comprises: a waist opening part； leg opening parts； and side seal parts. The side seal part is divided into an upper region, an intermediate region, and a lower region from the waist opening part to the leg surrounding part, a seal area ratio in each of the upper region and the lower region is 50% or more and 80% or less, a seal area ratio in the intermediate region is 20% or more and less than 50%.
