PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article configured to easily pull apart a side seal part by using a weak seal region as an origin to reduce labor and time in removing the underpants type absorbent article from a wearer.SOLUTION: An underpants type absorbent article 1 in this invention has a side seal part 4 in which a weak seal region 42 is sandwiched in a vertical direction between seal regions 41, 43 with high seal strength. An elastic member 24 extending in a circumferential direction of a cylindrical waist part D is arranged on an abdominal side part A and a back side part B of the underpants type absorbent article 1, and weak extension stress regions D1, D3 and strong extension stress regions D2, D4 where the elastic members with different thicknesses are arranged are formed at one or both of the abdominal side part and the back side part. The strong extension stress regions D2, D4 are located below the weak extension stress regions D1, D3.
