PURPOSE: A complex for treating constipation is provided to promote enterobacteria fermentation and enhance beneficial bacteria. CONSTITUTION: A complex for treating constipation contains 70-90 weight% of Cucumis melo seed extract and 10-30 weight% of D-sorbitol. The Cucumis melo extract is obtained by pulverizing Cucumis melo seed with a roll mill, adding 3-10 times volume of purified water, and extracting at 80-100°C. The complex further contains 0.015-7 weight parts of additive. The additive is indigestible meltodextrine, concentrated prune juice, tractooligosaccharide, potassium gluconic acid, chitosan, paprika coloring agent formulation, vitamin C, lemon lime perfume, or sucralose.
