A chewable dosage form is disclosed for the delivery of a variety of veterinarymedicines to animals. The dosage form is particularly suited to the provisionso medicines which are heat and pH sensitive. This is achieved by utilising thegelatinisation of a functional protein, such as vital wheat gluten, to incorporatethe medicine. Such gelatinisation occurs under relatively mild conditionsof temperature, pressure and pH. A process to prepare the dosage forms is alsodisclosed in which the key processing steps are conducted in the temperaturerange of 3O °C up to a maximum of 7O °C and at a pH in the range of about 5.0- 7.5.
