The present invention discloses a process for preparing a milk based product similar to milk pudding of colostrum. The process involves (a) boiling the milk, (b) adding sweetener to the boiled milk, (c) cooling the milk to luke warm temperature, (d) adding extract of Calotropis gigantea as coagulant to the milk, (e) heating the milk using a combination of steam and pressure for a predetermined time to obtain the milk based product and (f) cooling the product to room temperature and storing at 4�C.
