In an unforeseeable manner, it has now been found that cleaning or conditioning agents for hair that contain water or a hydroalcoholic carrier have a color-stabilizing effect if the cleaning or conditioning agents additionally contain a copolymer that can be cationized and that has a basic aminoalkyl side chain. Hair treatment agents for cleaning and/or conditioning and/or shaping keratin fibers, in particular human hair, that are significantly improved in regard to the equalizing capability and color leaching of said hair treatment agents contain, in a cosmetic carrier relative to the weight thereof, at least 80 wt % of water or of an ethanol/water mixture and at least one copolymer that is not permanently ionic and that is derived from at least one monomer of the general formula (I) that can be cationized, wherein R1 and R2 are independently a hydrogen or methyl group, R3 and R4 are independently alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, Y is an NH group or an oxygen atom, and p is an integer from 2 to 5.
