When a 2D cross section of an image is extracted from a 3D ultrasonic image generated by photographing a human body organ through 3D ultrasonic waves, the apparatus for inspecting the 3D ultrasonic image can provide a sample image of the corresponding 2D cross section and provide information for extracting the 2D cross section from the 3D ultrasonic image so as to allow a diagnostician to easily extract the 2D cross section.
