The present invention relates to a spherical main drug seed containing a herbal extract, a pellet formulation which increases the content of main drug based on the total weight thereof by using the spherical main drug seed, improves hygroscopicity, and contains a herbal extract, and a method for preparing the pellet formulation. The herbal extract pellet formulation prepared according to the present invention uses the main drug seed containing the herbal extract, to thereby have an effect in increasing the content of main drug based on the total weight of the pellet formulation. Therefore, when a patient takes the pellet formulation, the single dosage can be decreased so that the patient can easily take the pellet formulation. Further, when the main drug seed is prepared, the main drug seed has a sphere through particle collision due to high-rate rotation, thereby minimizing the surface area of the herbal extract, which is exposed to moisture, and thus decreasing the hygroscopic effect. Further, a main drug layer and a damp-proofing layer can be uniformly coated on the spherical main drug seed. Further, the thickness of the damp-proofing layer is uniform by the uniform coating of the damp-proofing layer, thereby minimizing the vulnerable surface of the interface surface in contact with moisture and thus having an excellent effect in reducing the absorption of moisture. Further, a coating agent as a damp-proofing agent is uniformly coated on the main drug layer to form the damp-proofing layer, so that a pellet preparation solving the hygroscopic problem of the conventional formulation containing a herbal extract as a main ingredient.
