PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method and apparatus which can produce an extending agent with good quality and low price, while reducing time and effort to secure a waste substrate.SOLUTION: A production method of the extending agent according to the present invention comprises a carrying process for deaerating and carrying a waste substrate 10 to be discarded； a raw material injection process for injecting into an accumulating part 2 the waste substrate carried to a plant in the carrying process； a conveying process for agitating and conveying toward a drying chamber 3 the waste substrate injected into the accumulating part in the raw material injection process； a drying process for drying and pulverizing in a given temperature zone the waste substrate conveyed into the drying chamber； a packing process for packing into a deaerated state in a storage bag 8 the waste substrate 10a pulverized in the drying process.【課題】 廃菌床の確保に掛かる時間と手間を削減しながらも、品質が良く、安価な増量剤を製造可能な製造方法と製造装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明に係る増量剤の製造方法は、廃棄される廃菌床１０を脱気処理して運搬する運搬工程と、運搬工程で工場施設に運搬された廃菌床を蓄積部２に投入する原材料投入工程と、原材料投入工程で蓄積部に投入された廃菌床を乾燥室３に向って攪拌搬送する搬送工程と、乾燥室内に搬送された廃菌床を所定の温度帯で乾燥させて粉末化する乾燥工程と、乾燥行程で粉末化された廃菌床１０ａを脱気状態にして納袋８に梱包する梱包工程を有する。【選択図】図２
