PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions containing sulfoalkyl ether cyclodextrin (SAE-CD) of high purity, which inhibits decrease in shelf-life and potency of a drug due to the impurities in a composition of SAE-CD known as a drug stabilizer.SOLUTION: The SAE-CD composition of the invention comprises a sulfoalkyl ether cyclodextrin whose average degree of substitution is 4.5-7.5, and a phosphate less than 100 ppm, where the composition has an absorption of less than 0.5 A.U. due to a drug-degrading agent, as determined by ultraviolet/visible spectrophotometry of a solution of the SAE-CD composition (300 mg/ml) at a wavelength of 245-270 nm in a photocell of 1 cm light path.SELECTED DRAWING: None【課題】薬物安定化剤として知られているスルホアルキルエーテルシクロデキストリン（ＳＡＥ－ＣＤ）の組成物中に存在する不純物による、薬物の有効期間および効力減少が抑えられた、高純度ＳＡＥ－ＣＤ組成物の提供。【解決手段】４．５～７．５の平均置換度を有するスルホアルキルエーテルシクロデキストリンおよび１００ｐｐｍ未満のリン酸塩を含む、ＳＡＥ－ＣＤ組成物であって、該ＳＡＥ－ＣＤ組成物が１ｃｍ光路長を有するセル中で、溶液１ｍＬ当たり３００ｍｇのＳＡＥ－ＣＤ組成物を含有する水溶液について、２４５ｎｍ～２７０ｎｍの波長で紫外／可視分光光度法により決定される０．５Ａ．Ｕ．未満の薬物分解剤の吸収を有する、ＳＡＥ－ＣＤ組成物。【選択図】なし
