A pillow or mattress cover with aromatic cartridges is described. The cover has discrete permeable zones, preferably made of microfilament, that allow for release of the aroma and are resistant to dust mites and moisture. The cover is a flexible enclosure (102) defining an outer surface and an inner surface. The cartridges (306A, 306B) contain aromatic material (310), from which pleasant smells emanate through aroma permeable regions (106A, 106B) in the outer surface of the cover.
