PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide biodegradable polymer particles for the occlusion of vascular sites such as the embolization of hypervascular tumors or arteriovenous malformations and cavities within the body.SOLUTION: There is provided polymer particles which comprise at least one monomer and at least one cross-linker, have diameters between about 40 μm and about 1200 μm and are susceptible to decomposition due to chemical hydrolysis or enzymatic action.
