PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable polymer particle for the occlusion of a vascular site of embolus or the like of hypervascular tumor or arteriovenous malformation and a cavity in the body.SOLUTION: The polymer particle includes at least one monomer including at least one functional group and at least one crosslinking agent, has a diameter in the range between about 40 μm and about 1,200 μm and is susceptible to decomposition due to hydrolysis or enzymatic action.
