PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for holding the quality of gelatinized hydrocarbon which solves the problem of the smell in gelatinized hydrocarbon since, though gelatinized hydrocarbon using polyethylene instead of the conventional vaseline as a base material has been recently largely used as the base material of ointment, in the case of the conventionally supplied gelatinized hydrocarbon, the smell thereof remaining to be solved.SOLUTION: The invention is completed by obtaining a knowledge that the smell in gelatinized hydrocarbon is caused by thermal deterioration accompanying heating in a melting step. The method for holding the quality of gelatinized hydrocarbon includes: a selecting step for raw material a melting step of melting the raw material while performing heating and stirring and a cooling step for a solution obtained by the melting step. The cooling step is started within 20 min. from the point of time at which the temperature of the solution exceeds 80°C by the heating treatment in the melting step.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】軟膏の基材としては最近、従来のワセリンの代わりにポリエチレンを基材としたゲル化炭化水素が多く用いられるようになってきているが、従来供給されているゲル化炭化水素の場合は、臭いがあることが問題であったので、本発明は、このゲル化炭化水素における臭いの問題を解決することを課題とする。【解決手段】本発明者は、ゲル化炭化水素における臭いは、溶解工程における加熱に伴う熱劣化に起因するとの知見を得て本発明を完成させたものであり、本発明に係るゲル化炭化水素の品質保持方法は、原材料の選択工程と、前記原材料を加熱攪拌しつつ溶解する溶解工程と、前記溶解工程により得られた溶解液の冷却工程とから成り、前記冷却工程は、前記溶解工程における加熱処理により溶解液が80℃を超えた時点から、20分以内に開始することを特徴とする。【選択図】なし
