Disclosed are a test kit or method for testing a target nucleic acid in a sample. The test kit comprises a hybridization solution; the hybridization solution comprises non-ionic surfactant, cation polymer, and a buffer solution having a pH value between 6.5 and 8.5. The test kit may also comprise a Tri-HCl color-rendering solution having a pH value between 9.0 and 10.0 and containing C8-C18 alkyl glucoside.
