There is described an apparatus for cultivating seedlings, the apparatus including a plurality of cells connectable to one another to form an integral row of cells, each of the cells being open at at least one end thereof for receiving a seed and a growth supporting soil therein to promote the germination of a seedling from the seed but without any interlocking of the seedling roots.
