PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic capable of achieving use feeling such as finger combability and good coating feeling in hair rinsing, and finger combability and less stickiness after drying at high level, and to provide a cellulose derivative contained in the same.SOLUTION: There are provided [1] a cellulose derivative having a main chain derived from anhydroglucose unit represented by the general formula (1) having a substitution degree of a cationic alkylene oxy group of 0.01 to 2.5, the substitution degree of a propylene oxy group of 0.1 to 3.0, and the substitution degree of polyalkylene oxyalkyl group of 0.003 to 0.2 per the anhydroglucose unit, and [2] a hair cosmetic containing the cellulose derivative, a surfactant and water.
