The present disclosure is related to a process for the micropropagation of Stevia culture (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni). This process comprises the following stages: stage 0.- Selection and pre- treatment of the mother plant stage 1.- Establishing the aseptic cultures by axillary buds Stage 2.- In-vitro multiplication using the thin layer cell technique Stage 3.- Elongation and Rooting and Stage 4.- Acclimatization. In stage 2, for the initial explants source, cross cell layers of 0.3-0.5 mm thick and a diameter of 1-1.5 mm are used, in combination with two incubation stages: first, of 28-30 days in complete darkness to generate a larger number of sprouts however, they present an albino appearance an second, of 12-14 days in photoperiod conditions, 16 hours of light / 8 hours of darkness to restore the natural appearance of the sprouts.Esta invención hace referencia al proceso para la micropropagación del cultivo de Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni). Este proceso comprende las siguientes etapas: etapa 0. Selección y pretratamiento de planta madre, etapa 1. Establecimiento de los cultivos asépticos mediante yemas axilares, etapa 2. Multiplicación in vitro mediante la técnica de capa celular delgada, etapa 3. Elongación y enraizamiento y etapa 4. Aclimatación. En la etapa 2 se utilizan como fuente de explantes iniciales capas celulares transversales de 0.3-0.5 mm de grosor y un diámetro de 1-1.5 mm, en combinación de dos fases de incubación: primera 28-30 días en oscuridad completa para generar un mayor número de brotes, sin embargo, estos presentan una apariencia albina y segunda 12-14 días en condiciones de fotoperiodo 16 h de luz/8 h de oscuridad para recuperar la apariencia natural de los brotes.
