The apparatus (2) has a roller (4) arranged in an operating direction (5) behind ground cultivating tools (3). A three-point tower (6) includes articulation points (7, 8) for connecting the equipment with a three-point linkage (9) of a tractor (10). Determining units (12, 13) respectively determine rotational speed of the roller and actual operating speed of the apparatus. An actuating part (15) is automatically activated, so that predetermined slip threshold value between the speed of rotation of the roller and the operating speed of the apparatus exceeds.
