PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause the information on the kind of a wildlife caught by a trap to be notified of.SOLUTION: A monitoring device 100 is connected to an acceleration sensor for measuring the acceleration data of a trap. On the basis of the acceleration data measured by the sensor, the monitoring device 100 decides whether or not a wildlife has been trapped by a trap, and decides the kind of the wildlife on the basis of the characteristic of the acceleration data, in the case the wildlife was trapped by the trap.
