The apparatus comprises a swing guide mechanism (120) which feeds a continuous elastic member (6a, 6b) onto a continuous web (7b) being conveyed, on which the elastic member attaches to the web at a nip point. The swing guide mechanism comprises a feeding part attached to the end of an arm member which moves on a motorised pivot. The motorised pivot swings the arm member alternately between a first direction and a second direction in predetermined cycles which results in the elastic member attaching to the continuous web in a predetermined waveform pattern. A speed controller maintains the feeding speed of the elastic member and controls the rate of movement of the arm member on the motorised pivot.
