PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryopreservation apparatus for safely cryopreserving eggs, embryos and the like while improving operability during the cryopreservation.SOLUTION: The cryopreservation apparatus 1 includes: a columnar body part 2 having the base end and the front end in the axial direction a holding part 3 disposed at the front end of the body part and a cylindrical member 4 capable of wrapping the holding part. The holding part holds at least one selected from the group consisting of an egg cell, an ovum, an egg and an embryo. The body part, the holding part and the cylindrical member are formed of liquid nitrogen-resistant materials.
