A medical tube carries gas to and / or from the patient. The medical tube has an elongate film in which elongate reinforcement members are wound in a spiral, which are joined together to form a lumen. The elongate film has a profile such that when the medical tube is bent, the elongate film does not protrude into the lumen of the medical tube. The elongated reinforcing member has a D-shaped cross section, which can contribute to the beneficial features of the medical tube.
