The device (10) has an upwardly curved cover (30) arranged on a base shell (20) in a form-fit manner. Openings (24, 34) for crops are arranged over each other in the base shell and cover, respectively. An aperture is formed in a region of a cover edge, where water flows from the cover into the base shell through the aperture. The base shell has guiding elements for allowing positioning of the cover on the base shell, and a shell edge (22) and the cover edge are provided with a rectangular contour.
