PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid absorber, clearly and uniformly discolored so that after use, check results are clearly discriminated, having excellent beauty and manufactured easily and at a low cost.SOLUTION: This liquid absorber includes water retaining material 17, a water absorptive resin material 18 and an excrement check material 19. The excrement check material has adsorption rate of 20 wt.%, and includes porous adsorbent having micropore and excrement check indicator adsorbed to the micropores of the porous adsorbent. An addition of the excrement check indicator is in the range of 0.03 wt.% to 0.5 wt.% to the total amount of the water retaining material and the water absorptive resin material.
