PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of estimating a temperature of a gradient magnetic field coil according to an imaging sequence.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus 100 includes an acquisition unit, a first calculation unit and a second calculation unit. The acquisition unit acquires temperatures. The first calculation unit calculates a time change of an estimation value of energy consumption of a gradient magnetic field coil 102 when the imaging sequence is executed, on the basis of information on the imaging sequence where magnetic resonance imaging is performed.
